The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan is delighted to commemorate the first birthday of His Royal Highness the Gyalsey, Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck, born on February 5th, 2016. In celebration, we are pleased to unveil a particular commemorative banknote with a denomination of Nu. 100.

Bhutanese currency 25 Chhertum was introduced during the reign of Druk Gyalpo (King) Jigme Singye Wangchuck (1955–; r. 1972–2006), the 1st and 2nd version of the coin was issued between 1974 to 1979 by the Royal Government of Bhutan. The 3rd version in 2003 by the Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan.

In celebration of the historic Royal Wedding of His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Wangchuck and Her Majesty the Queen Ashi Jetsun Pema on 13th of Oct 2011, in the Year of the female Iron Rabbit, The Royal Monetary Authority of Bhutan is honoured to issue the Royal Wedding Commemorative Nu.100 Note.
