Introduction:
Photography binds our group more than anything else. This is the primary reason why the twelve of us, from diverse backgrounds and geographies (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam) had come together for a trip to Bhutan last May 24 - 30. At the onset of our trip, everything else was secondary to photography, including the chance to give back to the community. But as the week progressed and as we visited monasteries and schools, the urge to give back became more paramount, culminating in a genuine desire to do something for Dhur Primary School (DPS), the community that we visited on our last day in Bhumthanf, Central Bhutan. Quite surprisingly for a big group, we unanimously decided that we should indeed act on this wish and do something concrete for the village school.
